Meta Ads for resorts and homestays in Munnar and Idukki

By Yedhu Krishnan P · Digital marketer in Idukki · 25 October 2026 · 6 min read

Most resorts and homestays in Munnar, Thekkady, Vagamon and Ramakkalmedu depend on booking sites that take 15–25% commission. Facebook and Instagram ads can bring direct WhatsApp bookings instead. Here's how to do it properly.

1. Target the right people, not just "Kerala"

2. Use video, not just photos

A 10–15 second reel of mist over the hills, your room view, a campfire or breakfast on the balcony beats any static photo. Show the experience, then the price.

3. Make booking easy: use WhatsApp

Choose the "Messages" (Click to WhatsApp) objective. Guests can ask "Is it available on Saturday?" in one tap. Reply within 5 minutes, because most enquiries book with whoever answers first.

4. Start with a small, steady budget

Start with ₹300–₹700 a day for 7–10 days. Watch the cost per WhatsApp conversation, keep the ads that bring real enquiries and switch off the rest. Increase budget 2–3 weeks before long weekends, Onam, Christmas and summer holidays.

5. Give a clear reason to book now

"Weekend package for 2 with breakfast and campfire – ₹3,999", "Free bonfire for direct bookings" or "Monsoon offer – 20% off weekdays". A clear offer gets far more enquiries than "Book now".

6. Build trust before they ask

Keep your Instagram updated with guest reviews, real photos and highlights for Rooms, Food, Activities and Location. Add your Google Business Profile reviews too, because travellers always check.
